Operation Art: Minecraft Edition

Kids love Minecraft like adults love watching reality shows. But why not make their Minecraft experience a little more 3D by taking them to Operation Art: Minecraft Edition at the Old Town Newhall Library.

You can kick off the holiday weekend by heading to the library’s community room on Friday, September 4th from 3:30 to 5pm for a free art adventure. Kids 9 and up can construct the world they love so much in the video game by using recycled materials, art supplies and their imaginations.

Adults, it might be fun to attempt this same project with that reality show you love… cardboard roses, anyone?

Beating the heat and having fun is super easy, just head over to Hurricane Harbor!

I took my kids recently on one of the hottest days of the summer, and it was still a totally amazing experience. There are plenty of ways to keep cool in the park besides just hitting the slides, like the water feature sections, misting stations, and the occasional overhead splash from an enthusiastic slider. And, of course, the rides are splashy fun for all ages. They are open daily through the end of the month, then weekends only in September, so make sure you go for it and enjoy the coolest of water parks. Visit their website for hours and ticket prices.

The Santa Clarita Aquatics Center is presenting the movie Planes: Fire & Rescue on Friday, August 7^th, at 7pm. You can bring the whole family to enjoy the movie on the big screen while you float in the pool or lounge on the deck.
