Anyone who has indulged in a Spiced Pumpkin Latte knows that fall is here-with or without the accompanying weather. So have some fall fun and play outside with your kids!
Here are my top picks for local Santa Clarita Family Fun Events and activities this weekend:
Lombardi Ranch is open for business, and by business I mean pumpkin carving, music, scarecrows, and a beer truck band. Don’t know what a beer truck band is but am just happy about the beer part of it. It’s open from 9-6 Monday through Saturday and 9-5 on Sundays and you can get all of the details here.
This Saturday the 4th there’s a Bake Off, and on Sunday the California Flyers are coming, plus a bunch of other great events. So go and enjoy! You will instantly feel Pumpkin-tastic…even without the beer.
Samuel Dixon Rubber Ducky Festival
Rubber Ducky, you ARE the one. This Saturday, October 4th, from 11-3 at Bridgeport Park your kids can watch those adorable bath toys race down a man-made waterway starting at Bolden Pond and cross the finish line, all for a good cause.
Click here to buy your duck racer for as little as $5, the proceeds will go to support patient care at the Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers for the uninsured and underinsured residents of SCV.
Entrance is free so make sure you visit and cheer on your little ducky with YOUR little duckies.
Santa Clarita Skate Park
Are your kids all, like, “La8ter Sk8ter”? Well take them over to the Santa Clarita Skate Park and let them get gnarly, dude! It’s the raddest place to skateboard, scooter (non-motorized), rollerblade, and BMX bike and it’s open 7 days a week from 8am to 10 pm, with special morning weekend hours for those under 12.
Check their website in case of any altered hours for special events before you head out, but take your kids and let them explore their more adventurous side.
I know, worry central, but they are probably going to do it anyways and at least here you can make sure they are wearing helmets!
Once Upon a Mattress
Taking your kids to the theater is always a great choice, but how do you know if it’s appropriate for your kids? Well, Once Upon a Mattress at the Canyon Theater Guild is running weekends through October 25th and it’s fun for the whole family.
It’s a comical take on “The Princess and the Pea” and silly fun for all ages with memorable songs like “Shy” and “Happily Ever After”.
Click here for times and tickets or call 799-2702. You will never look at your mattress the same way again.
Ventura Harvest Festival
Sometimes you just want to get out of town and take the family someplace new. Consider taking the journey to the coast and visiting the Ventura Harvest Festival. It’s at the Ventura County Fairgrounds October 3rd – 5th and tickets are only $9 and free for kids under 12.
We even have tickets as part of the Restaurant Row Program at KHTS so you can get them for even less at our studio or online at www.shopkhts.com. There are strolling performers, contests, a kids activity area, and of course a ton of original works of art and crafts.
Click here for all of the details.
It will be worth the drive, I promise.
