With the sad demise of “Colossus” at Six Flags, you may be feeling like there is no hope for some fun with your kids this weekend. But, rejoice! I have a ton of cool and low cost ideas for your family to try, so put on your happy face.
Check out my top 5 local Santa Clarita family fun activities for this weekend:
7th Annual Gracefest
How would you like to take your kids to an inspiring event with a spiritual kick? The 7th annual Gracefest in Antelope Valley is taking place on Friday, September 12th, and Saturday, September 13th, at the Palmdale Amphitheater.
It’s a family event featuring national and local Christian artists, merchants, vendors, speaker, and kids’ games with the proceeds going to numerous Christian school sponsorships. Tickets are $20 in advance and $10 for children 6-11, kids younger than 6 are free.

Free movie night at College of the Canyons
Happy 45th Anniversary, College of the Canyons! So glad to hear you are celebrating such a big milestone with a Family Movie Night event, because then I can spread the word to the SCV families about this free screening of “The Love Bug” for alumni, employees, students, and friends.
It’s happening on Saturday, September 13th and the picnic with activities for kids starting at 6pm and the movie kicking off at 7:30 with free popcorn, candy, and root beer floats. So head out and enjoy a great evening with a great school!
And College of the Canyons? Even though you’ve been around for 45 years, I wouldn’t put you at a day over 30.

Ella the Elephant at the Westfield Valencia Mall
Are your children fans of Ella the Elephant? Well, they will become even bigger fans of YOU if you take them to see their favorite character this Sunday at the Westfield Valencia Mall.
Your child can play with Ella and her Magical Red hat during meet and greets and live performances between 11 and 5:50 on the 14th, plus enjoy crafts and activities too. Visit the Facebook Event Page for all the details. Your child can even wear a bright, red hat to add to the festivities.
It will also set them up well to join the “Red Hat Society” down the road.
